What is the cast of The Muppets: Star Wars? You get one major human actor.

I’ve had some time to think about this.

Mark Hammel is an exasperated Kenobi, Kermit is Luke, Miss Piggy is Princess Leia (who rescues herself), Gonzo is Vader, Fozzie Bear is Chewbacca, who struggles to keep Han Drum Solo (Animal) in check. Rizzo is Jabba The Rat (Hutt). Beaker and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew are R2D2 and C3P0 respectively. Rowlf the Dog is Yoda. Uncle Deadly is The Emperor. The Penguins are stormtroopers, but so are the chickens (including Camilla the Chicken). The Swedish Chef is Admiral Ackbar. Sweetums is either Biggs or Wedge, but no one is quite sure which.

Statler and Waldorf are film critics who interrupt the movie every so often to complain about script deviations and plot holes. Link Hogthrob is an unnamed extra who thinks he is the lead character. Crazy Harry is Greedo, and then various other shady extras who keep on annoying Animal and getting thrown off-set, he then shows up to help blow up the Death Star with no explanation, much to Animal’s irritation. Beauregard is an Imperial maintenance technician (but not a very good one) and the reason the Death Star blows up. And by “blows up” I mean the set falls apart with some sparks and smoke, and all the relevant baddie characters wander off to build a better set (for the sequel).

Any other shady characters – such as Rizzo’s staff and the bounty hunters – are played by the Frackles. They do this on rotation and will address the camera to tell viewers they are definitely not the same actor they saw earlier (when Rizzo or Gonzo don’t do it first).

’80s Robot should show up as all the other droids. In any sequel, Big Mean Carl is Jabba with the running gag that the cast keep insisting he was always Jabba, including in a “digitally remastered” flashback.

Doglion is the Rancor. Sopwith the Camel is an X-Wing pilot. Wayne and Wanda are singers for the Canteena band. Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are the Canteena band (the drummer is missing, much to Animal’s upset).

I love Rockula not because it is good (It really isn’t). A musical about a lacklustre vampire who starts a band. I love it because it is so gloriously cheesy and so bad its good. The music is kinda catchy and silly at times.

Rockula came out in 1990 but it truly is full of top-notch 80’s kitch. It is not without star power either, Bo Diddley plays a supporting roll as a member of the band; Toni Basil plays the mother; and Thomas Dolby plays the rival. Dig it up and watch it. Not a great movie but a fun one.

100 things you can do on your personal website – 79 to 100

James wrote 100 things you can do on your personal website stopping at 78 and challenging us to come up with some more. This is me taking up the challenge.

  1. Reply or respond to something in a post. WebMention is great for this.
  2. Create a single-page script that does a thing. For example, a serialized array editor or a word counter.
  3. Ask open-ended questions to encourage replies, comments, and toots.
  4. Write a post reviewing another person’s website and share the love.
  5. Add a little shop to sell the nice things you make.
  1. Create a little archive (or blog category) where you can reblog/repost things you wrote and published elsewhere. There’s a WordPress plugin to help with all that.
  2. Create a creative challenge and encourage other people to show you how they did.
  3. Share screenshots of your sandbox game progress. I do this for Minecraft sometimes.
  4. Start a list of something (like this) and encourage others to add to the list (like this).
  5. Start a webcomic. I made ones about beans doing a dungeon crawl.
  6. Start an email newsletter with a signup and unsignup page. Here’s mine.
  7. Make some kind of directory for cool links. I made one of those too.
  8. Add a generic disclaimer. Bonus points if it is funny and somewhat legally sound.
  9. Add a Creative Commons license so other people can reuse your content.
  10. You have a 404 page, but do you have a “418 I’m a teapot” error page?
  11. Compile a list of your favourite bad puns and dad jokes. You can borrow from mine.
  12. Implement ActivityPub and add your website to the fediverse. There’s a WordPress plugin for that.
  13. Create a widget that displays your current health and mental well-being. Like the one here.
  14. Make a wishlist with links so friends and family know what you might like for your birthday.
  15. Make a little toggle to show/hide things. The Tea isBrill log has one. Feel free to pinch the code.
  16. Decorate the site footer with some nice images. Bonus points if you made the image yourself with your own camera.
  17. Add your own entries to the 100 things to do with a personal website list. See if we can get to 200.
