If Labour want to reduce economic inactivty they need to fund mental health

My hot take is that if Labour were to find a shedload of cash for NHS mental health services, they would create jobs and chip away at one of the underlying causes of economic activity.

The Tories f*cked us up mentally. Labour needs to unf*ck the population’s mental health.

Convince me otherwise (if you can).

  • @jamesI agree that mental health has impacts on ability to function, but I would like to add that society shouldn't value us solely for our levels of productivity. A lot of un/non-economic activity is also valuable (consider maintaining connections, supporting community, etc), as is simply resting. And people have value regardless of our capacity to work.
